Hi guys! Before I start of this journal entry I just wanted to say, I know I've made promises of opening commissions again and then disappearing, but atm I don't really know when I'll be able to. I'm hoping to reopen them in the near future.
I logged on today after being on a 2 week trip to Japan, and saw that I got a DD! This makes it my second DD in my DA life and I never expected that to happen. Thank you so much, I'm so happy!
I also came to realize that a lot, and I mean A LOT of people are doing pixels nowadays. I mean, pixel art have been around for as long as I remember, but I'm pretty sure when I started off there weren't as many people doing them. That was what made me want to go for pixeling, because it was different from the other digital art and because it wasn't as popular back then. Today I see more pixel art than regular digital art. I don't know if it's because pixel art is easier, especially those who think they are without the necessary tools to draw regular art, as pixels can be done with a mouse and a simple program.
This has made pixel art sort of boring. I don't mean that I lost interest in pixeling, nor will I quit but I feel like my art kind of lost it's purpose. Surely I pixel because I like it, but the reason why I started pixeling has become so moot it feels so trivial now. It's harder for me to appreciate pixel art because it's just everywhere now.
Oh but that doesn't mean I don't encourage new pixel artists though. Just putting my thoughts out there, and maybe I'm the only one who thinks so, as I always like to be different and strive to be unique.
